Robert Edward Smith.

obert Edward Smith composes music that is "enthusiastically tonal and melodic" (Boston Music Intelligencer) for vocal and instrumental ensembles of all sizes ranging from unaccompanied viola to symphony orchestra. His "tuneful and well made" (Boston Globe) music appeals to both novices and seasoned concertgoers.

His latest works are Concerto for Harp and Strings, premiered by the Chamber Orchestra of Boston, with Ina Zdorovetchi as soloist, and Suite Petite for piano and strings.  Commissioned for children, Suite Petite recognizes the limited range of a young hand.  Its four charming movements can be played with string orchestra or quartet.

Mr. Smith welcomes commissions from opera, orchestral or chamber music groups seeking to expand their repertoire, as well as from individuals celebrating a personal milestone.
